Michael Owen raves about Liverpool FC under Jurgen Klopp
Michael Owen has his say about Liverpool FC's brilliant form in the Premier League this season
Michael Owen has admitted that Liverpool FC’s brilliant form this season has been a “joy to watch”.
The Reds have been in sensational form this term and have headed into the new year top of the Premier League table and unbeaten in the top flight.
The Merseyside outfit have established themselves as one of the main contenders to win the Premier League title this season, with Manchester City currently their closest challengers.
Liverpool FC were dominant 5-1 winners over Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday night to underline their status as one of the main challengers for the title.
They will return to action with a crunch clash against Manchester City at The Etihad on Thursday night as they look to continue their fine form.
And Liverpool FC legend Owen has admitted that the feel-good factor around Anfield is not something that he has seen before very often.
Speaking to BT Sport after the win over Arsenal last weekend, Owen said: “I’ve never known the fans to be so proud of their team, proud of their manager and proud of everything that’s connected with this club.
“It’s just a great feeling. Everyone’s got a spring in their step. I get so excited coming to Anfield because you just know you’re going to be entertained. That’s all we ask for really.
“[And] as it happens, there are some of the best players on planet earth here at the moment. It’s a joy to watch.”
Liverpool FC are still aiming to win their first major trophy under Jurgen Klopp since his appointment as the club’s new manager back in October 2015.
The Reds did reach the Champions League final last year but they ended up losing 3-1 to Real Madrid.
