Rio Ferdinand explains why he thinks Liverpool FC have been in such good form this season

Rio Ferdinand believes that “simplicity” is the key to Liverpool’s top form under Jurgen Klopp this season.
The Merseyside outfit have been earning plenty of praise for their strong attacking displays under Klopp in recent weeks, with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all amongst the goals.
Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their crunch Merseyside derby showdown against Everton at Anfield on Sunday and Klopp’s side head into the game fresh from having thrashed Spartak Moscow 7-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Manchester United legend Ferdinand has admitted that the Reds have been a joy to watch this season and believes he has unearthed the key to their good form this term.
Speaking to BT Sport, Ferdinand said: “Simplicity is the key to the way they play at the moment. They need willing runners off the ball. If you’re standing still, those passes don’t get picked up.”
Liverpool FC are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season after they ended up in fourth place in the table last term.
The Reds are yet to win their first trophy under Klopp since his appointment as the club’s new manager back in October 2015.
The Merseyside outfit will discover their opponents for the last 16 of the Champions League when the draw is made in Nyon on Monday.
