Michael Owen raves about Liverpool FC star: People don’t realise this about him
Michael Owen heaps praise on Roberto Firmino for his ability to win possession for Liverpool FC

Michael Owen has singled out Roberto Firmino for special praise for the way he is able to win possession for Liverpool FC.
The Brazilian attacker is widely regarded as one of the top attacking talents in the Premier League and he has earned plenty of praise for his performances for the Reds so far this season.
Firmino has been in fine form for Liverpool FC so far this season and has struck up a fruitful understanding with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho at Anfield.
But although he is a big fan of Firmino’s attacking talent, former Liverpool FC star Owen also heaped praise on the Brazilian’s ability to win possession and start attacks for his side.
Speaking to BT Sport last week, Owen said: “Another thing Roberto Firmino does is he nicks the ball so well.
“Back in the day, everyone used to say that Ian Rush was the best ‘defender’ that Liverpool had because he used to nick the ball.
“Firmino defends from the front so well and it’s part of Liverpool’s DNA in a way, they win the ball in the final third and attack quickly.”
Liverpool FC return to Premier League action on Wednesday night when they take on West Bromwich Albion at Anfield.
The Reds are aiming to at least better their fourth-placed finish in the Premier League from last season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are set to discover their opponents in the last 16 of the Champions League when the draw is made in Nyon on Monday 11 December.
