Frank Lampard: Liverpool FC star is the story of the season
Frank Lampard lavishes praise on Mohamed Salah following his sparkling displays for Liverpool FC this season
Frank Lampard has lavished praise on Mohamed Salah following his brilliant debut season with Liverpool FC.
The 25-year-old has been one of European football’s top performing players this term following his move to the Anfield club from AS Roma last summer.
Salah scored a staggering 44 goals in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s men to help the Reds finish fourth in the Premier League and reach the Champions League final.
He was voted as the PFA player of the year and also won the Premier League golden boot during his first campaign at Anfield.
Salah’s season ended on a disappointing note when he had to be substituted in the first half of the Champions League final on Saturday after picking up a shoulder injury.
However, Chelsea FC legend Lampard, who played alongside Salah at Stamford Bridge, insists that the Egypt international has been the standout player in European football this term.
Speaking to BT Sport on Saturday, Chelsea FC legend Lampard said: “There’s a different look in his eye from Chelsea, like a steely look about him.
“The humility of the man, as well as his talent, is just incredible. He is the story of the season.”
Liverpool FC will now dust themselves down as they bid to regroup ahead of next season, as they continue their search for their first trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in the autumn of 2015.
