Souness admits Liverpool FC star has completely surprised him this season
Graeme Souness opens up about Mohamed Salah and his brilliant form for Liverpool FC this season
Graeme Souness has admitted that he has been stunned by Mohamed Salah’s fine form for Liverpool FC so far this season.
The Egypt international has been one of the Reds’ standout players this term following his move to the Anfield club from Roma in the summer transfer window.
Salah continued his brilliant form for Liverpool FC has he scored the Reds’ third goal in their thumping 4-0 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The 25-year-old has now scored 14 goals and made three assists in his first 18 Premier League outings for the Merseyside outfit this season.
And former Liverpool FC star Souness has admitted that he has been amazed by the impact Salah has had since his move to Anfield.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Souness said: “He’s their top goal-scorer. He’s surprised me this year.
“You remember him when he was at Chelsea… his argument will be that he didn’t get a chance there.
“Certainly since he’s come back he’s just been fantastic. If he’s not scoring every game, which he near enough does, he’s missing chances, he’s getting there and creating things.
“He’s their outstanding player. Take his goals out of their game and it would be a very different situation for Liverpool.”
Salah will be hoping to feature for Liverpool FC when the Reds return to Premier League action on Friday night with a crunch clash against top-four rivals Arsenal at The Emirates.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table and one point ahead of Arsenal heading into the crunch top-four showdown in north London.
Liverpool FC finished fourth ahead of Arsenal in fifth in the table last term.
