Steve Nicol believes that Liverpool FC are poised to finish in second place in the Premier League table next season.
The Reds are looking to try and win their first major trophy under Jurgen Klopp following his appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
Liverpool FC earned plenty of praise for their strong performances last season as they reached the Champions League final and finished in fourth place in the table.
The Reds have been busy in the summer transfer window so far, bringing in Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker ahead of the new campaign.
And Nicol feels that the Merseyside outfit are likely to improve on last season’s performances and finish in second place in the Premier League table next term.
Speaking in an interview with ESPN FC, Nicol said: “They will finish second. They are rightly second favourites.”
Liverpool FC earned plenty of new admirers following their brilliant performances en route to the Champions League final last term.
However, the Merseyside outfit ended up losing 3-1 to Real Madrid in the final back in May as their search for a trophy continues.
Liverpool FC begin their new Premier League campaign with a home clash against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.
