Phil Thompson has heaped praise on Liverpool FC for getting their transfer business done early and efficiently this summer.
The Reds were busy in the transfer market as Jurgen Klopp moved quickly to start adding to his squad ahead of the new campaign.
Liverpool FC have signed Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho and Alisson Becker as they prepare for the new season and aim to mount a title challenge.
And former Liverpool FC star Thompson says that he has been thrilled by what he has seen from the Reds in the transfer market ahead of their Premier League opener this weekend.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Thompson said: “It was within 48 hours of losing the Champions League final Fabinho was announced as our first signing, a holding midfielder to maybe put a bit of pressure on Jordan Henderson.
“Liverpool have their business done nice and early, unlike some clubs who have been caught out. For Liverpool, though, I think it has been a fantastic window.”
Liverpool FC will be aiming to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title next season after they finished in fourth place in the table last term.
The Reds are still aiming to win their first trophy under Klopp after they reached the Champions League final last term but were beaten by Real Madrid in the showpiece back in May.
Liverpool FC will kick off their new campaign with a crunch clash against West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
