Jurgen Klopp sends honest message to Liverpool FC fans about top-four hopes
Jurgen Klopp says his Liverpool FC side must focus on improving their displays after their 4-1 loss to Spurs

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool’s top-four hopes have taken a battering after their 4-1 loss to Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
Klopp’s side struggled to get into the game as they were outplayed at Wembley by the Lilywhites, who claimed a comprehensive win to keep them within five points off Manchester City.
Liverpool have struggled to produce consistent performances in recent weeks and the Merseyside outfit are now down in ninth place in the Premier League table, 12 points behind leaders Manchester City after just nine games.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be able to claw their way back into the race for a top-four finish this season.
However, Klopp admitted that the Reds will have to significantly improve their game if they are to turn their form around in the coming weeks and months after their error-strewn display against Spurs.
Speaking at his post-match news conference at Wembley, Klopp said: “We don’t have to talk about top four today. We are where we are, we deserve that.
“If Tottenham needed to be geniuses to come through us then there is no debate.
“But when you make the mistakes we did we have to work on that, it was too easy for Tottenham, much too easy.”
Liverpool’s players must now dust themselves down as they prepare to return to Premier League action next weekend with a home clash against newly-promoted Huddersfield Town, who beat Manchester United on Saturday.
Tottenham, meanwhile, travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United next weekend.
