Reporter claims Liverpool have agreed deal with top 22-year-old midfielder
Liverpool have agreed a deal in principal with Naby Keita, according to Gabriele Marcotti

Liverpool have agreed a deal “in principle” with Naby Keita ahead of his proposed move from RB Leipzig, according to Gabriele Marcotti.
The respected journalist took to Twitter on Friday morning to claim that the Reds have agreed personal terms with the midfielder, although it is understood that Liverpool are yet to settle on a fee with RB Leipzig.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old in recent days as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his midfield options ahead of his second full season in charge at Anfield.
And Marcotti has now underlined his understanding that Liverpool have already agreed on a pay packet and contract length with Keita.
Asked by one user on Twitter if Liverpool had a deal in principle in place with Keita, Marcotti replied: “That’s my understanding… agreement in principle on wages/contract length.”
Liverpool have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks as Klopp prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
So far, however, the Reds have only signed striker Dominic Solanke and winger Mohamed Salah.
Klopp led Liverpool to a fourth-placed finish last season as they secured a return to the Champions League.
