Teenager replies when asked if he’s signing for Liverpool this summer
Christian Pulisic plays down the speculation linking him with a possible transfer to Liverpool this summer
Christian Pulisic says he has read about the speculation linking him with Liverpool but insists that he will be staying at Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a possible move to Anfield in recents weeks amid claims that Jurgen Klopp is keen on bringing the winger to the Merseyside club.
Pulisic impressed for Bourssia Dortmund last season as he made 29 appearances in the Bundesliga and scored three goals.
He has been touted as a target for the Merseyside club regularly over the past 12 months, but the player himself has now insisted that he remains focused on furthering his career at Dortmund.
Asked about Liverpool’s apparent interest, Pulisic is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: “Yes, I read that too. What more can I say? I concentrate fully on the start of the season.
“I’m very happy in Dortmund. To be clear and concise: I do not think about changing clubs. At the beginning of the year I finally extended my contract until 2020.
“Last season, I established myself in Dortmund with a European top club, which was always my dream as a little boy.”
Liverpool have signed three players so far this summer after having tied up deals for Dominic Solanke, Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah.
However, the Reds continue to be linked with a number of other players, especially given the relentless speculation about Philippe Coutinho’s future at the club.
Liverpool, who finished fourth in the table last term, are currently preparing for their first home Premier League game of the season against Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
