Jurgen Klopp drops hint about Liverpool summer transfers
Jurgen Klopp appears to declare his excitement about the calibre of player Liverpool are aiming to sign this summer
Jurgen Klopp has declared himself as “really optimistic” for the future of Liverpool after guiding the Reds into the Champions League in his first full season in charge at the club.
The German manager enjoyed a successful campaign in charge at Anfield as he watched his side secure their place in Europe’s elite club competition by finishing in fourth place in the Premier League.
Attentions are now firmly focused on the players Liverpool could be set to sign this summer as Klopp looks to assemble a squad capable of fighting on four fronts next season.
The Reds have already tied up a deal to sign young striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea, and are rumoured to be closing in on Roma winger Mohamed Salah.
And Klopp has revealed his sheer excitement at what the future holds for Liverpool, as he appeared to drop a hint about the stature of the players he hopes to sign this summer.
Speaking to Liverpool’s website, Klopp said: “I’m really optimistic for our future, not because I’m crazy but only because I know what we have, I know what we will get, I know what we can get.
“And I know that we really have a super bunch of people – knowledge, character – not just the players, all around.”
Liverpool ended up eighth in Klopp’s first season at the club following his appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ successor in October 2015.
