Virgil van Dijk reveals where he must improve for Liverpool FC
Virgil van Dijk says there is one area he is focused on improving at Liverpool FC

Virgil van Dijk has identified one key area where he thinks he needs to improve ahead of the new season with Liverpool FC.
The Netherlands defender is widely regarded as one of the top centre-halves in European football and he has been in top form for the Reds since his move to Merseyside from Southampton back in January 2018.
Van Dijk was named as the PFA player of the year last season following his excellent performances at the back for the Reds, as Liverpool FC won the Champions League and finished in second place in the Premier League table.
The Dutchman will now be focused on trying to help Liverpool FC go one step further next season as they look to try and beat Manchester City to the title, having ended up just a point behind the Citizens last term.
And the defender has now revealed that he is focused on improving his attacking play from set-pieces as the new season looms large.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Sport, Van Dijk said: “Obviously, it is a big honour to be named as one of the favourites to win such a prestigious award but what can I do? I just get on with playing.
“I am very hard on myself. I know the slightest loss of concentration, the slightest mistake will be punished. I try to limit it as much as possible.
“I have always been very critical of myself and I like the people around me to be critical too. And they are, the manager is as well, which is a good thing.
“I have improved since I joined Liverpool. Last year I am very satisfied with the fact that I played so many games on a consistent level, I am very proud of that fact.
“On a critical part I could have done more on attacking set-pieces, been more dangerous. It is not easy, I try to work on it.
“I feel there is still more to come. That comes from playing games. In my position it is all about experience as well. Playing games, staying fit, and that will hopefully bring success for the team.”
Liverpool FC will begin their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Norwich City on 8 August.
Before that, they will take on Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley on 4 August.
