Liverpool urged to land top 26-year-old as their third signing
Dietmar Hamann urges Liverpool to make another move to try and sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton

Dietmar Hamann has urged Liverpool to make another move to try and sign defender Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.
The Reds were heavily linked with a summer move for the 26-year-old Netherlands defender last month but were forced to issue a public apology after Southampton lodged a complaint about an alleged illegal approach.
Liverpool are still thought to be on the lookout for a new defender this summer as Jurgen Klopp prepares for his second full season in charge at Anfield.
And former Reds midfielder Hamann says he would be keen for Liverpool to try and sign Van Dijk if a deal is still on the cards.
Hamann is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror: “That would be great [if Liverpool could sign van Dijk].
“He’s one of the best centre-backs in league. I think the club handled the situation poorly and they were reported to the Premier League.
“Whether that’s affected his decision now I do not know. I’d love to see him at the club because I think he would improve the team no end.”
Liverpool have bolstered their attacking options so far this summer by signing winger Mohamed Salah and striker Dominic Solanke.
The Reds, however, will be looking to make further additions this summer as they prepare for a return to the Champions League next season following their fourth-placed finish last term.
