Tim Sherwood names the Liverpool FC summer signing he ‘loves’
Tim Sherwood heaps praise on Andy Robertson following his strong form for Liverpool FC
Tim Sherwood has lavished praise on Andy Robertson following his strong start to life as a Liverpool FC player.
The Scottish left-back signed for the Reds from Hull City in the summer transfer window last year and has been gradually eased into the first team at Anfield by Jurgen Klopp.
Robertson has become something of a more regular fixture in the first team in recent weeks for the Reds and he was particularly impressive on Saturday as he set up Mohamed Salah’s second goal with a fine cross in the 5-0 thrashing of Watford at Anfield.
The Scot has started 18 Premier League games so far this season and has also made three appearances in the cup competitions for Klopp’s men.
And former Tottenham Hotspur manager Sherwood has been very impressed indeed by what he has seen from Robertson in Liverpool FC shirt so far this season.
Speaking to BT Sport, Sherwood said: “He looks like a boy who takes on instruction really well.
“He does whatever the manager asks of him. And he sets the tempo as well with the closing down, he’s the first one to go. I love him.”
Liverpool FC, who finished in fourth place last term, are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they seek a top-four finish this season.
The Reds will return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Crystal Palace on 31 March.
