Jurgen Klopp has warned Liverpool FC that they are involved in a “crazy” title race following Friday night’s 2-0 win at Wolves.

The Reds made the trip to Molineux Stadium on Friday night knowing that a win would give Liverpool FC a four-point lead at the top of the table ahead of Manchester City’s clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Liverpool FC made the breakthrough in the first half thanks to Mohamed Salah’s 11th Premier League goal of the season after good work from Fabinho down the wing.

The Merseyside outfit had to hold firm as Wolves put Liverpool FC under pressure in the second half before Virgil van Dijk opened his Premier League account for the Reds.

Salah managed to pick out Van Dijk with a superb cross and the Netherlands international steered a finish past Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio to seal three points.

The last four Premier League teams to top the table on Christmas Day have gone on to win the title – Liverpool FC are the last team to fail to do so after Brendan Rodgers’ men finished in second place in 2014.

Asked if Liverpool FC are in a strong position in the Premier League title race, Klopp told Sky Sports on Friday night:

“So far it looks like a real special season.

“48 points before Christmas is crazy. But other teams – Chelsea, Man City, Spurs and Arsenal – can all win and have 40 points. It is crazy. In the top five or six, no-one drop points.

“At the end of the season, you might need 105 points to be champions.

“We know we are good but we know the others are good as well. We can’t start planning the party.

“If you are successful you get these questions so it is better you ask.”

Liverpool FC have finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
