New Liverpool FC signing turned down chance to take Loris Karius’ shirt – report
Alisson Becker turned down the chance to wear the Liverpool FC number one shirt, according to a report

Alisson Becker has turned down the chance to take Loris Karius’ number one shirt at Liverpool FC, according to a report in Brazil.
Brazil media outlet UOL, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Alisson had a chance to become Liverpool FC’s number one following his record move to Anfield from AS Roma.
The same article states that Alisson held discussions with the Merseyside outfit but the Brazil international opted not to take the number one shirt “out of respect” for Karius.
According to the same story, Alisson is likely to wear the No13 shirt unless Karius leaves the Merseyside outfit before the close of the summer transfer window.
It was no secret that Liverpool FC were in the market to sign a new shot stopper following Karius’ poor performance in the Champions League final at the end of the season.
The former Germany Under-21 international made two big mistakes in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid to allow Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale to get on the score sheet.
Liverpool FC have signed midfielders Fabinho and Naby Keita from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco and Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window so far.
The Reds have also signed Swiss star Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City.
