Top 25-year-old goalkeeper replies to Liverpool FC and Real Madrid transfer talk
AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson opens up about Liverpool FC and Real Madrid interest

AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson has welcomed interest from Liverpool FC and Real Madrid after admitting the transfer speculation helps to “massage the ego”.
The Brazil international has emerged as a possible summer target for Jurgen Klopp as the Reds finally look to sign a shot stopper capable of filling the problem position.
Both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet have struggled to impress since the German head coach took over the reins at the Anfield outfit to prompt talk of a summer splurge on a goalkeeper.
Liverpool FC have suggested that Alisson is the Merseyside outfit’s top summer target to fill the position between the sticks but the Reds are likely to face competition from some top European clubs.
Indeed, Real Madrid have been linked with a swoop to sign Alisson despite both Chelsea FC goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Manchester United shot stopper David De Gea being touted as potential targets.
Speaking to Globoesporte about apparent interest in his services, Alisson said:
“Those links massage the ego, it cannot be denied.
“People get satisfaction when you are being recognised by any club.
“I am very happy to have this recognition, that says to me that I am doing my work well and they are noticing.
“I’m focused on things at Roma, but it is especially nice when we are talking about Real Madrid.
“And as I said, it does not affect what I have been doing on the field and in my income for Rome, because I am very focused on this moment.
“But I am happy, yes, for the recognition of all.”
Liverpool FC will face Premier League leaders Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals following a 5-0 win over FC Porto in the previous round.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but have finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
