Liverpool FC turn down Fiorentina's offer to sign Bobby Duncan on loan, according to a report
Liverpool FC have turned down Fiorentina’s bid to sign promising youngster Bobby Duncan on a season-long loan, according to a report in England.
The Liverpool Echo, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Serie A giants Fiorentina were interested in a potential loan move for the teenager.
The same article states that Fiorentina were willing to pay €1.8million (£1.6m) at the end of the season to sign Duncan on a permanent deal.
According to the same story, the club’s Academy director Alex Inglethorpe rejected Fiorentina’s approach for the talented 18-year-old.
Metro go on to quote Sky Sports, who claim that Duncan is unhappy at Liverpool FC’s unwillingness to consider Fiorentina’s offer for the highly-rated youngster.
The media outlet claim that Duncan would like the opportunity to play regular first-team football considering his current situation at Liverpool FC.
Jurgen Klopp has a proven track record of giving youngsters a chance in the Liverpool FC team since the German head coach took over the reins in 2015.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez have both been regulars in the Liverpool FC team under Klopp.
The Reds signed Dutch teenager Sepp van den Berg and Fulham youngster Harvey Elliott in the summer transfer window.
