Borussia Dortmund will definitely sell Christian Pulisic next summer if the Liverpool FC target doesn’t commit to a new contract, Raphael Honigstein has claimed.
The Bundesliga giants have managed to keep the impressive American teenager at the Westfalenstadion despite persistent links with a potential move to the Premier League.
Pulisic’s current contract will run until the end of the 2019-2020 season, however Dortmund will understandably be reluctant to allow the playmaker to run down his deal.
Jurgen Klopp was in charge of Dortmund when Pulisic moved to the German club at the age of 15 before the charismatic head coach left BVB and took over the reins at Liverpool FC.
Premier League duo Chelsea FC and Manchester United have also been linked with a move to sign the United States international over the past 12 months or so.
Bundesliga expert Honigstein believes Dortmund will look to cash in on Pulisic if the American proves reluctant to commit his future to a new long-term deal.
Pulisic scored two goals and made one assist in Dortmund’s 3-1 pre-season win over Liverpool FC.
The Reds lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last season, while Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot.
