Jamie Redknapp makes worrying Liverpool FC prediction about Philippe Coutinho
The former Liverpool FC captain hints Philippe Coutinho could leave in the summer
Jamie Redknapp believes Liverpool could struggle to keep Philippe Coutinho beyond the summer.
The Brazil international was linked with a potential move to La Liga giants Barcelona in the last transfer window.
Liverpool FC rejected Barcelona’s approach for the 25-year-old attacker despite the Spanish side offering in excess of £100m.
Coutinho even handed in a transfer request but the Reds refused to alter their stance on the South American playmaker.
The former Inter Milan star has scored 12 goals and has made eight assists in 16 starts in all competitions this term.
Ex-Liverpool FC captain Redknapp warned that the Reds could have a big problem on their hands next summer.
“I personally believe Liverpool will have a problem [with Coutinho] in the summer,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
The Reds signed four players in the summer transfer window to improve their squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.
The Merseyside outfit haven’t any silverware since Coutinho arrived at Anfield in 2013 but the Reds will take on FC Porto in the Champions League knockout stage after topping their group.
