Liverpool FC are not planning to cash-in on Champions League hero Divock Origi this summer, according to a report in England.

The Liverpool Echo is reporting that the Reds aren’t planning to cash-in on the Belgium international in the summer transfer window.

The same article states that Origi has less than 12 months left to run on his current deal at the Merseyside outfit, which means the Belgian striker would be available to sign on a free transfer next summer.

According to the same story, Liverpool FC don’t want to have to find a replacement for the 24-year-old before the summer transfer window deadline on 8 August.

The Liverpool Echo go on to report that the Reds would rather stick with Origi and work on convincing the utility player to commit to a new deal ahead of the January transfer window.

Origi scored some vital goals for Liverpool FC throughout the 2018-19 season, despite being largely used as an impact player off the bench.

The former Lille striker scored late winners in dramatic victories at Everton and Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Origi scored twice in Liverpool FC’s 4-0 victory over FC Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.

The Belgian striker netted Liverpool FC’s second goal in the 89th minute of their 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in Madrid at the start of June.
