Jurgen Klopp has dismissed speculation suggesting Liverpool FC could look to sign Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale this summer.

The Wales international is facing an uncertain future at the Spanish giants after the four-time Champions League winner fell out of favour under Zinedine Zidane.

Real Madrid appointed Zidane as their manager back in March less than 12 months after the France legend left The Bernabeu following their 3-1 win over Liverpool FC in the Champions League final in Kiev.

Zidane has made no secret of the fact that he’d like to offload Bale in the summer transfer window following the arrival of Chelsea FC number 10 Eden Hazard in a big-money deal.

Bale has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur over the past couple of transfer windows but a deal has failed to materialise so far.

When asked if Liverpool FC could offer Bale an escape route out of the Spanish capital, Klopp was quick to quash the speculation in an interview quoted by Metro:

“I don’t know why these fantastic footballers have so strange ideas.

“What can I say, I respect them all so much, especially as a player and a guy. They only say these things because people ask them about it.

“Bale is a Real Madrid player, if he leaves he will be outstandingly expensive, with big wages. We cannot solve the problems of other clubs.

“He’s an outstanding player, I like him a lot. He won the Champions League final [in 2018 against Liverpool] pretty much alone when he came off the bench.

“But it’s not just about him. You have to create a team. A team is not a collection of individuals, we are not going for these single players and hoping they will solve the future for us.”

Liverpool FC have only signed 17-year-old Dutch defender Sepp van den Berg in the 2019 summer transfer window.

The Reds haven’t brought in any big name players despite winning the Champions League last term.

Liverpool FC finished in second place in the Premier League table last term.
