Jamie Redknapp tells Liverpool FC to make this signing in January
The Liverpool FC legend wants to see Jurgen Klopp sign a leader to bolster his leaky defence

Jamie Redknapp has urged Liverpool to sign a leader to improve their defence.
The Reds have been heavily criticised for a poor start to the season as Jurgen Klopp’s continue to struggle defensively.
Liverpool failed to recruit Southampton club captain Virgil van Dijk in the summer transfer window despite the Netherlands international’s eagerness to move to Anfield.
The Merseyside have already conceded 15 times in five games on the road to raise serious questions about Klopp’s defence until the January transfer window.
Liverpool have been forced to stick with Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan at the back for their opening nine games.
Klopp even dragged off Lovren after 32 minutes of their 4-1 loss to Tottenham at Wembley last weekend, opting against bringing on Klavan to replace the Croatian.
Former Liverpool captain Redknapp believes the Reds need to sign a leader to bolster their defensive options.
“I look at the Liverpool back four and I don’t see leaders,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“I don’t see anyone taking responsibility. There are no leaders. That is the major problem with the Liverpool back four.”
Liverpool signed AS Roma winger Moahmed Salah, Hull City defender Andy Robertson, Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke in the summer transfer window.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
