Liverpool FC legend sends transfer warning to Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool FC legend John Aldridge is concerned by the Merseyside outfit's lack of transfer activity this summer

John Aldridge has warned Jurgen Klopp that Liverpool FC need to strengthen up front to ensure that they’ve got cover for Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane next season.
The Reds have been quiet in the summer transfer window so far despite Liverpool FC winning the Champions League for the sixth time at the start of June.
Liverpool FC have only signed 17-year-old Dutch defender Sepp van den Berg in a £1.6m deal from FC Twolle so far this summer.
However, Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno have both left Liverpool FC to leave Klopp short on back-up options in two key positions in his Champions League-winning squad.
In particular, the England striker proved an adept replacement when Salah, Firmino or Mane have been struck by an injury over the past couple of seasons.
Champions League hero Divock Origi has recently committed to a new deal to ensure that Klopp has at least one striker who has a proven record of scoring goals.
But former Liverpool FC striker Aldridge is concerned that the Reds don’t have sufficient cover that is capable of doing a job should one of their stars suffer a serious injury.
“The big concern would be what happens if one or two of his front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are out for an extended period,” Aldridge told the Irish Independent.
“I’m not sure Liverpool would have the back-up performers to plug that gap, but finding players of that quality to sit on the bench in reserve would be no easy task.
“Klopp appears to have come to the conclusion that he has enough in his squad and I would trust him implicitly in making that judgement. This manager has proved himself to be a master of building harmony on and off the field during his near four-year reign at Anfield.”
Liverpool FC were 2-0 winners against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in Madrid last season.
