Jose Mourinho sends warning to Liverpool FC about title pressure
The Manchester United boss warns Liverpool FC will have to challenge for the Premier League title this season

Jose Mourinho has warned Jurgen Klopp that Liverpool FC are under pressure to win the Premier League title this season.
The Reds have made a big investment over the past seven months in their squad to put Liverpool FC in a position to challenge Manchester City and Manchester United.
Liverpool FC made Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk the world’s most expensive defender following his £75m switch from Southampton in the January transfer window.
Klopp signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco despite the defensive midfielder previously being linked with a move to Mourinho’s Manchester United side.
Naby Keita finally sealed a switch to the 18-time English champions at the start of July after Liverpool FC agreed a £48m transfer fee with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig last summer.
World Cup star Xherdan Shaqiri moved to Liverpool FC in a cut price deal from relegated Stoke City to provide Klopp with more depth in attack.
Liverpool FC made Alisson Becker the world’s most expensive goalkeeper after the Brazil number one moved in a £67m deal from AS Roma.
Manchester United boss Mourinho believes Liverpool FC will be under pressure to challenge for the Premier League title after their big spending.
“I think you have to be fair and now you have to demand [they win the title],” Mourinho said.
“You have to say the team, with the investments you are making last season, that you made in January, that you make now, because that will probably be the record for the Premier League this season, I can’t see anyone else getting close to spending what they have.
“A team that was a finalist in the Champions League, you have to say you are a big candidate, you have to win [the league].”
