Liverpool FC to rival Man United for 22-year-old La Liga full-back – report
Liverpool FC are thinking about a bid for Real Betis defender Junior Firpo to provide more competition at left-back, according to a report
Liverpool FC are ready to rival Manchester United for Real Betis defender Junior Firpo, according to a report in Spain.
Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the Champions League winners are interested in signing a new left-back this summer.
The same article states that Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to replace Alberto Moreno this summer after the Spain international left on a free transfer.
According to the same story, the Reds believe that 22-year-old Firpo could provide competition and cover for Andy Robertson in the Liverpool FC squad next term.
The report goes on to add that Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Real Betis star after supposed talks with the La Liga defender last month.
Mundo Deportivo claim that Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are also interested in the Dominican-born defender ahead of the new Premier League season.
Robertson has been a revelation since his move to Liverpool FC in an £8m deal from Hull City in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Liverpool FC finished in second place in the Premier League table last term and a point adrift of defending champions Manchester City.
The Reds won the Champions League title thanks to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the final earlier this month.
