Jurgen Klopp makes Liverpool FC transfer admission
Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp doesn't expect the Reds to be particularly active in the summer transfer window
Jurgen Klopp has conceded that it won’t be the biggest summer transfer window for Liverpool FC.
The Reds have been quiet throughout the summer months despite being crowned European champions at the start of June.
Liverpool FC were 2-0 winners against Tottenham Hotspur to get their hands on the Champions League title for the sixth time.
Klopp has only signed 17-year-old Dutch defender Sepp van den Berg in a £1.6m deal from FC Twolle so far this summer.
Liverpool FC have been linked with a number of big names but Klopp hasn’t made any marquee signings.
Speaking at his media conference on Tuesday during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, Klopp gave a transfer update for Reds fans.
“We are still looking, but it will not be the (biggest) transfer window of LFC,” says Klopp. “It just will be a transfer window.
“We will see what we do, and if we haven’t done anything by the end it will be for different reasons.
“It’s about using this team. In the transfer window, you have to build a team that you think you want to go into the season with. But I have that team already.
“If we can bring somebody else in that makes it even better, we will see. But if not, this team is already there. And again we will have to find solutions at different moments.”
Liverpool FC were one of the biggest spenders in 2018 as Klopp revamped his Reds squad.
The Merseyside outfit signed Virgil van Dijk in a £75m deal from Southampton in January 2018.
Liverpool FC wasted no time recruiting Brazilian midfielder Fabinho in a £39m swoop from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
The Reds also brought in Alisson Becker in a £67m transfer from Serie A giants AS Roma in July 2018.
Naby Keita linked up with the Reds squad in a £48m transfer from RB Leipzig before Xherdan Shaqiri swapped Stoke City for Liverpool FC last summer.
