Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is hoping that Liverpool will be able to wrap up their summer transfer signings as soon as possible.

The Reds are likely to significantly bolster their squad in the summer transfer window as Klopp prepares his side for a return to the Champions League next season.

Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League table in Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.

The German coach will want to bolster his squad as he looks to assemble a squad capable of fighting on four fronts next season.

Klopp admits that he wishes Liverpool could complete the bulk of their transfer deals early in the transfer window but concedes that may not be able to happen.

Klopp told the Liverpool Echo: “The season is done. We have a bit of work to do with transfers and then at the start of July we begin pre-season. We have a lot to improve on.

“I wish the signings happened tomorrow but the best scenario is that they are done for the start of pre-season.

“I don’t know if that will happen this time, we will see. But when they are all fit and healthy then we already have a really strong squad.”
