Jurgen Klopp hints more Liverpool FC signings could arrive in January
The Liverpool FC manager drops a hint that the Reds could make some more singings in the January transfer window
Jurgen Klopp has hinted Liverpool FC will continue to look for signings capable of propelling the Reds in the “right direction”.
The Merseyside outfit made Virgil van Dijk in world’s most expensive defender after Liverpool FC agreed a £75m transfer fee with Premier League rivals Southampton.
Liverpool FC’s addition of Van Dijk has largely been welcomed by the club’s supporters given the Reds’ well-documented struggles in defence this season.
Klopp’s side have conceded 23 times in 20 games in the current Premier League campaign to raise questions about the German’s back four.
Liverpool FC fans will be hoping that Klopp can sign a new goalkeeper and a new left-back to tackle the remaining problems in the former Borussia Dortmund manager’s starting XI at Anfield.
Klopp appeared to suggest that the 18-time English champions could enter the January transfer market again if the right player becomes available.
“We’re making steps in the right direction, that’s what the owners and the supporters are asking for,” Klopp told Sky Sports News.
“Yes, each new player we bring in is another step and so far I think we did really well in the transfer business.
“We never ignored that part of the business but we also believe in improving the team in the training pitch and through the games. It’s a good moment rather than a bad moment.”
Klopp has spent almost £300m since the charismatic manager took over the reins at Liverpool FC from Brendan Rodgers in October 2015.
The Reds boss won two Bundesliga titles and reached the Champions League final during his spell in charge of Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool FC are in fourth place in the Premier League table.
