Liverpool FC receive boost in pursuit of top 25-year-old defender – report
Stefan de Vrij isn't keen on a new Lazio deal amid interest from Liverpool FC, according to reports in Italy

Liverpool FC have received a boost in their pursuit of Stefan de Vrij given the Lazio defender’s reluctance to sign a new deal, according to reports.
Football Italia, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Netherlands international isn’t interested in signing a new contract with the Serie A giants.
According to the same article, the Merseyside outfit view De Vrij as a potential alternative to Liverpool FC’s top summer target Virgil van Dijk.
The same story is reporting that De Vrij isn’t aware of a proposed new deal to open up the possibility that the Reds could lure the Dutch star away from the Italian capital.
De Vrij is a name that will be familiar to Liverpool FC supporters having been linked with a switch to Anfield on a regular basis.
The Dutch centre-half has scored three times in 15 appearances in Serie A this season to help Lazio challenge for a top-four spot.
Liverpool FC fans will be hoping their former midfielder Lucas Leiva can help to convince the 25-year-old defender to consider a move to the Anfield outfit.
The Reds will make the trip to top-four rivals Arsenal in their next Premier League game at The Emirates on Friday.
