Phil Thompson wants Liverpool to strengthen three areas in Jurgen Klopp's squad this summer
Phil Thompson believes Liverpool need to sign a centre-half, holding midfielder and a striker in the summer.

Liverpool signed seven players in the summer transfer window to bolster Jurgen Klopp’s squad after the Reds finished in eighth place in the Premier League table in 2015-16.

“Liverpool need a stronger spine to the team, by which I mean a top centre-back, a strong holding midfielder and a striker who is ready to produce goals,” Thompson said.
Liverpool crashed out of the Champions League group stage the last time that the Reds competed in Europe’s premier club competition.
