Goalkeeper’s agent sends message to Liverpool fans about his future
Loris Karius' agent insists the German goalkeeper will stay and fight for a first-team spot at Anfield

Loris Karius is set to stay at Liverpool and fight for his future, his agent has confirmed.
The Germany Under-21 international has been linked with a potential loan move next season to secure more first-team experience after a different first campaign at Anfield.
Karius moved to Liverpool in a £4.9m deal from Bundesliga outfit Mainz last summer as Jurgen Klopp signed the shot stopper to replace Simon Mignolet as number one.
However, the 23-year-old struggled to impress in the Liverpool side as Karius appeared to struggle with nerves.
Mignolet was restored to the Liverpool starting line-up in early December and the Belgium international retained his place for the remainder of the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.
The former Sunderland goalkeeper played a key part in Liverpool’s successful top-four bid with a number of crucial performances on the road in the final weeks of the season.
Speaking to Goal about Karius’ future at Liverpool, the German star’s agent Florian Goll insisted that the 23-year-old has his eyes fixed on winning back his number one spot.
“There is absolutely nothing to the rumours that Karius will leave,” Goll said.
“He did not sign at Liverpool for the short term – he believes in the vision of the manager and he wants to be fully fit and prepared to fight for the No. 1 position from the first day back.
“He has already started his individual programme to keep fit during the summer because he wants to be completely ready when preseason starts.
“He is extremely motivated by the competition.”
