Liverpool to smash transfer record to complete second summer signing – report
Liverpool are willing to spend a club record fee on Mohamed Salah to sign the Roma winger this summer, according to reports
Liverpool are ready to break their transfer record to complete a deal to sign AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah this summer, according to reports in England.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Merseyside outfit are prepared to offer a sum for Salah that would eclipse Andy Carroll’s £35m transfer to Liverpool from Newcastle United in January 2011.
However, the same article states that Roma are holding out for a fee in excess of £35m as Liverpool continue to be frustrated in their pursuit of the Egypt international.
According to the story in the Daily Telegraph, Liverpool will look to reach a swift conclusion to the transfer negotiations as Jurgen Klopp hopes to conclude his transfer business before pre-season.
Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.
Klopp signed seven players in his first summer transfer window as Liverpool manager following an eighth-place finish in 2015-16.
The German manager is now preparing his side for a return to the Champions League next season after he guided them to a fourth-placed finish last term.
