Liverpool hope former manager can help secure deal to sign top 22-year-old star – report
Liverpool are hoping to utilise Gerard Houllier's experience to complete a deal to sign Guinea international Naby Keita, according to reports

Liverpool are hoping Gerard Houllier will be their secret weapon in a potential deal to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, according to reports.
The Independent is reporting that Liverpool have already been told that it would take a £70m transfer fee to sign the Guinea international this summer.
However, the Reds could turn to former manager Houllier to help current boss Jurgen Klopp land one of his top targets in the summer transfer window.
The same article highlights that the French coach worked as Red Bull’s head of global football for two-and-a-half years between 2012 and 2015.
And Houllier was responsible for advising Red Bull’s Austrian arm Salzburg to sign Keita from French side FC Istres in 2014.
Keita impressed during two seasons with the Austrian club before RB Leipzig signed the box-to-box midfielder in a £12.75m deal last summer.
Liverpool have already broken their transfer record this summer after the Reds concluded a £36.7m deal to sign Mohamed Salah from Serie A outfit AS Roma.
The Reds have also added England Under-20 international Dominic Solanke to their squad from Premier League champions Chelsea.
