Liverpool Echo reporter James Pearce has revealed that Liverpool aren't interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette
Liverpool aren’t interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to James Pearce.
The Reds have been linked with a host of names since securing their place in next season’s Champions League thanks to a fourth-place finish in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.
Aubameyang is expected to leave Dortmund in the summer transfer window and the striker has previously worked under Liverpool boss Klopp at Westfalenstadion.
However, the 28-year-old is now being tipped to secure a lucrative move to China with little interest from European clubs in the £70m-rated centre-forward.
Lyon forward Lacazette is another name that has been touted as a potential Liverpool target, although Arsenal are thought to be leading the race to sign the France international.
Liverpool Echo reporter Pearce believes Liverpool are unlikely to sign either Aubameyang or Lacazette in the 2017 summer transfer window.
“Just gossip. Not aware of Liverpool showing any interest in either him or Aubameyang this summer,” Pearce told Liverpool Echo.
Liverpool finished in fourth place and a point ahead of Arsenal last season to secure a return to the Champions League.
The Reds have signed Chelsea forward Dominic Solanke and AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah in the summer transfer window so far.
