Rio Ferdinand names position where Liverpool FC need January signing
The Manchester United legend wants Liverpool FC to sign a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window

Rio Ferdinand believes Liverpool need to sign a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ successor in October 2015 and has largely stuck with Simon Mignolet as his first-choice goalkeeper.
The ex-Borussia Dortmund head coach signed Loris Karius in a £4.7m deal from Bundesliga outfit Mainz but the 23-year-old has failed to convince when given the chance to shine.
Liverpool have conceded 19 times in 15 games in the Premier League this term to prompt criticms of Mignolet, while his understudy has let in seven goals in six Champions League outings.
The Merseyside outfit haven’t been linked with a new goalkeeper since the summer when Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas emerged as a surprise target.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand urged Klopp to consider adding a new goalkeeper to his squad in the January transfer window.
“They need a goalkeeper as well. A goalkeeper would be a great addition to that squad as well [as a centre-half],” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
Liverpool were 7-0 winners against Spartak Moscow in their final Champions League group-stage fixture to ensure a spot in the last-16 draw.
The Reds signed Mignolet in a £9m deal from Sunderland in the 2013 January transfer window during Brendan Rodgers’ spell in charge at Anfield.
Current manager Klopp signed Karius in a £4.7m transfer from Mainz in 2016.
