Lyon respond to reports Liverpool FC on the verge of Nabil Fekir signing
Lyon ruled out Nabil Fekir moving to Liverpool FC in the imminent future contrary to reports in England and France

Lyon has emphatically quashed reports that Liverpool FC are on the brink of signing Nabil Fekir.
Reports on Thursday suggested that the Reds had agreed a transfer fee with Lyon over the sale of the France international.
A number of British and French media outlets claimed that Liverpool FC had reached a £60m agreement with Lyon to sign the 24-year-old.
There is a sense of urgency surrounding the proposed transfer given Fekir will compete at the World Cup next week and England’s shortened transfer window.
However, the Ligue 1 side have rubbished reports that Liverpool FC are on the brink of completing a deal to sign the French playmaker.
Lyon took to social media website Twitter to release a statement surrounding the future of Fekir and a potential move to Liverpool FC.
“The information on the transfer of Nabil Fekir is false,” Lyon wrote on <a href="http://” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>Twitter.
“Olympique Lyonnais categorically denies the false information disseminated by many media outlets about the transfer of Nabil Fekir to the Liverpool club.
“In this period of transfers where the slightest rumour is often presented as a reality, Olympique Lyonnais recalls that only the information disseminated by the club on its website is authentic.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The Reds are looking to improve their squad depth this summer given a number of injuries at the end of the 2017-18 season.
The Merseyside outfit have already signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.
