Liverpool FC contact Lille about 24-year-old Ivorian winger – report
Liverpool FC contact Lille about their apparent interest in Nicolas Pepe, according to a report

Liverpool FC sporting director Michael Edwards has contacted Lille manager Christophe Galtier to reassure him that the Reds aren’t interested in Nicolas Pepe, according to a report in England.
The Liverpool Echo, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Merseyside club aren’t planning to raid Lille despite speculation linking the Reds with a summer swoop for Pepe.
Th same article states that the current Champions League holders have branded reports in France linking Liverpool FC with the 24-year-old as “pure lies”.
According to the same story, Liverpool FC believe their name is being linked with Pepe to drive up the Ivory Coast international’s price ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Liverpool Echo go on to suggest that Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United are all thought to be interested in the Ligue 1 star.
The Reds haven’t made any signings in the summer transfer window so far despite Liverpool FC winning the Champions League for the sixth time in their history earlier this month.
The 18-time English champions finished in second place in the Premier League title race and a point adrift of Manchester City.
Liverpool FC released England international Daniel Sturridge and Spanish defender Alberto Moreno earlier this summer as Klopp looks to improve his squad.
