Sadio Mane sends message to Liverpool FC fans about Real Madrid speculation
Liverpool FC forward Sadio Mane plays down reports linking the Senegal international with a move to Real Madrid this summer

Sadio Mane has played down reports linking the Liverpool FC star with a summer move to Real Madrid.
The Senegal international has been one of Liverpool FC’s best players in the 2018-19 season after a return of 20 goals and one assist in 34 Premier League games.
Mane’s performances were recognised by the PFA at the weekend after the African star was named on the Premier League team of the season.
Real Madrid have been regularly linked with a move to sign the former Southampton winger throughout the campaign.
The speculation has only intensified following the return of Zinedine Zidane, who is thought to be keen to revamp the club’s squad in the summer.
Speaking at Liverpool FC’s media conference ahead of the first leg of their Champions League semi-final at FC Barcelona, Mane said:
“I think you guys write it [the rumours]. I just read it with my friends.
“I respect the [Spanish] league, it’s a good league with great players. But the Premier League is also a wonderful league, everyone wants to play here.
“I have this opportunity [at Liverpool] so I think it’s cool.”
Mane moved to Liverpool FC in a £34m deal from Southampton in the 2016 summer transfer window after an impressive three-season spell at the Saints.
The Senegalese forward has netted 25 times and has made two assists in 53 games in all competitions this term to help Liverpool FC challenge for the Premier League title and the Champions League crown.
Liverpool FC will take on Newcastle United in their next Premier League fixture at St James’ Park on Saturday evening.
