Liverpool FC have reached an agreement with Thomas Lemar to replace Philippe Coutinho at Anfield but need to settle on a transfer fee with AS Monaco, according to reports.
Yahoo! Sport is reporting that Lemar has reached an arrangement with Liverpool FC provided that the Premier League club can agree a price with the defending Ligue 1 champions.
According to the same story, the Merseyside outfit haven’t allowed their summer interest in Lemar to fizzle out and the Reds are determined to beat their Premier League rivals to Lemar.
Arsenal made €95m deadline-day offer to sign Lemar but the France international turned down the chance to move to The Emirates amid reports the forward preferred a move to Anfield.
The same article states that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keeping tabs on Lemar but Liverpool FC are determined to beat their top-six rivals to the attacker’s signature.
Liverpool FC are facing the prospect of losing Coutinho to Barcelona and Yahoo Sport! suggests the two clubs will meet to discuss the 25-year-old’s future on Wednesday.
Lemar has scored 10 goals and has made nine assists in 39 games in all competitions last term as Monaco won the Ligue 1 title and reached the Champions League semi-finals.
