Reporter tips exciting 22-year-old to move to Liverpool FC rather than Arsenal
Daily Mirror reporter John Cross hints Liverpool FC are leading Arsenal in the race to sign Thomas Lemar

Thomas Lemar is more likely to move to Liverpool FC rather than Arsenal in the January transfer window, reporter John Cross has claimed.
The France international was touted as a possible signing for Arsenal last summer but the Monaco star turned down a £92m move on deadline day.
Lemar was rumoured to have informed Monaco that his preferred destination was a move to Liverpool FC, despite Arsene Wenger’s ability to transform French players into world-class talent.
The attacking midfielder scored 11 goals and made 12 assists in 48 appearances in all competitions last season as Monaco won the Ligue 1 title and reached the Champions League last four.
Lemar has struggle to hit the same heights in the current campaign, although Monaco depleted their team with the sales of Kylian Mbappe, Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy last summer.
Daily Mirror reporter Cross suggested that Lemar would rather move to Liverpool FC than join a struggling Arsenal team.
“Listen, if you’re Lemar and one of the most exciting attack-minded midfield players in Europe at the moment, do you go to Arsenal where they are positioned?” Cross told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“I think he is much more likely to go to Liverpool.”
Arsenal are facing a battle to keep Alexis Sanchez at the north London club given the South American’s deal will expire at the end of the season.
World Cup winner Mesut Ozil has less than six months left on his contract to open up the possibility of the Arsenal star leaving for nothing in the summer.
