Liverpool FC are interested in Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir after scouting the Turkish prospect last weekend, according to a report in England.

Turkish broadcaster Star TV, as quoted by The Daily Mail, is reporting that Liverpool FC sent scouts to watch Cakur over the weekend as the Trabzonspor goalkeeper impressed in a 1-1 draw with Fenerbache.

The same article states that the Merseyside outfit’s scouts have sent back a positive review to the club’s hierarchy after the 23-year-old’s eye-catching display.

Cakir made eight stops to help Trabzonspor earn a point in a 1-1 draw with the Turkish giants.

According to the same story, Liverpool FC have contacted Trabzonspor to alert the Turkish side of their interest.

The report go on to add that the Champions League holders will continue to monitor Cakir in the coming months.

The article suggests Liverpool FC could face competition from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.

Liverpool FC are in the market to sign a long-term number two after Simon Mignolet left the Anfield outfit in the summer.

Jurgen Klopp signed Adrian in a free transfer after the 32-year-old was released by West Ham at the end of last season.

Liverpool FC are sitting at the top of the Premier League table and two points ahead of defending champions Manchester City.
