Dimitar Berbatov is backing Liverpool FC to complete a professional win against Brighton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds have the chance to equal a club record by going 31 home games without a defeat at Anfield when the Premier League leaders face Brighton.

Liverpool FC are setting the pace in the Premier League title race with a return of 37 points from 13 games so far.

The Merseyside outfit are sitting eight points clear of their closest title rivals Leicester City following their imperious start to the season.

Liverpool FC have won four successive Premier League games since a 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford last month.

Brighton have the second-worst away record in the top flight ahead of their trip to the Premier League leaders.

The Seagulls have only collected four points from six away fixtures, making Liverpool FC the clear favourites to secure three points.

Former Spurs striker Berbatov is backing Liverpool FC to ease to a resounding 4-0 victory over Brighton on Saturday.

“Although they didn’t perform well against Napoli, Liverpool still managed a draw,” Berbatov told Betfair.

“There have been a number of things this season that, for me, can be seen as signs that Liverpool will go all the way such as wining games in the last minute.

“Against City, United, Chelsea or any of the big top six clubs, it’s easy to get motivated and the match like they have this weekend is one of those that they really have to work hard in.

“This is one of those games where they will need to be even more motivated and concentrated, they can not underestimate Brighton, but I’m sure they won’t do that and they will know what is at stake.”

Liverpool have won their last seven meetings with Brighton in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and conceding just five.

The Reds finished in second place in the Premier League title race last term after ending up a point adrift of eventual champions Manchester City.
