Sadio Mane issues update ahead of Liverpool FC v Chelsea FC
Sadio Mane insists he's ready to start Liverpool FC's Uefa Super Cup clash with Chelsea FC on Wednesday night

Sadio Mane has insisted that he is “ready to start” Liverpool FC’s clash with Chelsea FC in the Uefa Super Cup on Wednesday night.
The Reds are preparing to do battle with the Blues in Istanbul as they look to win the next trophy on offer to them this term.
The one-off game pits last season’s Champions League winners against the Europa League champions as Jurgen Klopp aims for his second trophy as Reds boss.
Mane only returned to Melwood last week after a short 16-day summer holiday in the wake of his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
He came on as a late substitute during Liverpool FC’s 4-1 win over Norwich City on Friday night at Anfield and he now feels that he’s ready to play from the start in Wednesday’s game.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Liverpool FC’s website, Mane said: “Yes, I think I’m ready [to start].
“Tiredness, I think, is here [pointing to his head] – for sure.
“I’ve been playing professional football a long time [and] I think I never even have holidays more than 20 days [for the last] seven years now.
“I’m used to it and, for sure, I’m ready. I’m here, so let’s do it.”
Chelsea FC warmed up for the game with a disappointing 4-0 defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action this Saturday afternoon when they take on Southampton away from home.
