Jurgen Klopp has moved to cool fears surrounding Fabinho’s fitness after he had to come off just moments after making a substitute appearance in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 win at Cardiff City on Sunday.

The Brazilian midfielder lasted just four minutes after coming on as a substitute during the Reds’ Premier League victory in Wales on Sunday afternoon.

The fact that he had to be replaced immediately after coming on inevitably prompted fears about his fitness heading into the crucial climax to the season.

However, Klopp has now moved to indicate that Fabinho is “OK” and that he should be available for selection for Liverpool FC’s home clash with Huddersfield Town on Friday night.

Speaking during his post-match media duties after Sunday’s win, Klopp said: “It was very unlucky.

“Fabinho is OK but he had a bit of shaky legs and that’s of course not a good sign in the moment.

“It’s a 100 per cent ‘yes’ or go off; if it’s 95 per cent in that game in that position, we cannot make that decision [to stay on]. It’s all good.”

Liverpool FC will be hoping that Manchester City drop points in their Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The Reds are currently two points clear at the top of the Premier League table but have played a game more than Pep Guardiola’s defending champions.

The Merseyside outfit are also gunning for glory in the Champions League this season, and they will take on FC Barcelona in the semi-finals next month.
