Charlie Nicholas is tipping Liverpool FC to claim a 3-1 win over Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently waiting to welcome the Red Devils to Anfield as they look to continue their unbeaten start to the new campaign.

Liverpool FC have been in superb form so far this season and they currently sit one point clear at the top of the Premier League table heading into Sunday’s showdown.

The Reds head into the game fresh from having booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League thanks to their 1-0 win over Napoli at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have struggled to find consistent form all season and they find themselves a staggering 16 points behind leaders Liverpool FC heading into the game.

The Merseyside outfit are the clear favourites to claim the three points on Sunday, and former Arsenal star Nicholas is convinced that Klopp’s men will take the victory.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Nicholas said: “These games in the past I would always back Mourinho but, for the life of me, I honestly don’t have a clue what he’s going to do here. He went with quite an attacking team against Man City and they got battered.

“Pogba will not play and the only way I can see this developing into a positive for Mourinho is to park the bus and try and stay in the game and snatch something later on. The key for United is De Gea and Rashford and if they’re at their best they may have a chance.

“We do a lot of combined XIs and the biggest thing you can say about it is that I had two days to think about it and I couldn’t get any Man United players into the Liverpool team. De Gea was the only one close but Alisson’s been great so far, so even he’d miss out right now.

“But I can’t honestly see anything other than a Liverpool win. The way United have been playing the only way they could stop Liverpool would be to park the bus and get a 0-0 but I can’t see that happening.”

Despite all of their fine form, Liverpool FC have still not been able to win a major trophy under Klopp since his appointment back in 2015.

The Reds reached the Champions League final last season but lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the showpiece back in May.
