Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Liverpool FC v Newcastle
Mark Lawrenson looks ahead to Liverpool FC's clash with Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday

Mark Lawrenson is backing Liverpool FC to claim a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United in their Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday evening.
The Reds head into the game in fine form, after having moved up into second place temporarily last weekend thanks to their dominant 4-1 win over West Ham United.
However, Liverpool FC did not last long in second spot as Manchester United beat Chelsea FC to move back above them in the table.
The Merseyside outfit have been in brilliant form in recent weeks and they have been earning plenty of praise for their impressive attacking displays.
Liverpool FC have also all but booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after having thrashed FC Porto 5-0 in the first leg of their last 16 clash last month.
And former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson is not expecting Newcastle United to cause any problems for the Reds.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “This is a return to Anfield for Newcastle’s former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez, but it probably won’t be a happy one.
“The Magpies threw away a 2-0 lead late on against Bournemouth last week and only drew. I am pretty sure Rafa will set his side up with the aim of getting a point this time, but I don’t think he will get it.”
Liverpool FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification for the second season running under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season as they secured their spot in the Champions League.
