Divock Origi previews Liverpool FC v Tottenham Hotspur final
Divock Origi looks ahead to Liverpool FC's showdown with Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final
Divock Origi has warned Tottenham Hotspur that Liverpool FC have been “making steps” ahead of their Champions League final showdown on Saturday.
The Reds are preparing to take on their Premier League rivals in club football’s biggest game of the season in Madrid as Liverpool FC look to try and go one step further than they did last season.
Liverpool FC reached the Champions League final last term but ended up losing to Real Madrid in the showpiece.
The Merseyside outfit have earned plenty of praise for their performances this season and they came from three goals down to beat FC Barcelona in the semi-finals of the competition.
Liverpool FC also missed out on the Premier League title by a whisker as they ended up one point behind Manchester City in the Premier League table.
Origi has played an important role in the team at times this season, scoring six goals and making one assist.
And the 24-year-old feels that the Reds have made some significant progress this term.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Sky Sports, Origi said: “We’ve made a lot of steps as a team, when you look at a couple of years ago.
“There is now more experience, more stability, more unity, more talent, so we’re using all these things and in the future it’s just about focusing on doing the right things.”
Asked about his own potential role in the final, he added: “I’m ready to play whatever role the coach wants me to play.
“Everyone is excited for this final and personally, I’ll be as fit and as ready mentally as possible to do whatever I can do.”
Liverpool FC are aiming to win their first ever trophy under Jurgen Klopp since his appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
