Liverpool FC will try and sign Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the Reds are ready to try and make a bid to bring him to Anfield next year as Jurgen Klopp targets “one key” January signing.
The same report says that the 25-year-old is a “leading target” for Liverpool FC boss Klopp, who has reportedly been tracking his progress for most of this season.
Klopp apparently knows Demirbay well, as the midfielder came through the youth system at his former club Borussia Dortmund before moving to Hamburg.
The same article also claims that a deal to sign Demirbay could be made easier by the fact that he is managed by the same company as Liverpool FC duo Sadio Mane and Naby Keita.
Demirbay has made nine appearances for Hoffenheim in all competitions so far this season.
Liverpool FC are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as Klopp looks to significantly bolster his squad ahead of the second half of the season.
The Reds have been in superb form in the Premier League so far this term. They have not lost a game in the top flight and are currently second, just two points behind leaders Manchester City after 12 games.
They will return to action with a trip to Watford on Saturday afternoon.
