Liverpool on course to finish in top four, says Tom Werner
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner believes the Reds are on course to finish in the top four this season

Tom Werner is convinced that Liverpool on track to secure a return to Champions League next season.
The Reds, who travel to Arsenal on Saturday, are currently third in the Premier League after winning six of their opening nine top-flight games this term.
Fenway Sports Group took over Liverpool in 2010, and chairman Werner believes the Reds are closer than ever to finishing in the top four again.
“We know how much it means to our fans to get to the top of the Premier League and get back in the Champions League,” said Werner.
“I just want to keep going in the right direction.”
Meanwhile, manager Brendan Rodgers believes Liverpool won’t be deterred in their pursuit of a top-four finish even if the Reds should suffer a loss to Arsenal.
“It is a good benchmark for us,” he said. “We have shown that we have quality in the team, that we’ve got a winning mentality, which is important, and that we can consistently bring that to the table.
“Saturday won’t be the be-all-and-end-all in terms of whether we can make the top four or not, but I think what we have shown so far is that we are going to be in the conversation.”
